Item description : 10 seeds of Musella lasiocarpa var. rubribacteata produced at the nursery. Fresh seeds harvested in September 2026. Buyer Beware: I guarantee the freshness of the seeds, not their germination, it can be tricky and random with Musaceae.
Habitat and Description : Beautiful Musella discovered about 20 years ago in China and only introduced into cultivation in Europe about 2 years ago. It’s very different from the yellow Musella: bigger leaves, more robust plant and large red/orange inflorescences. It’s very likely that it will be described as its own species at some point.
Care : To be sown in an organic soil mix in warm and humid conditions, the seeds can take a while to sprout. Some growers recommend a light scarification of the seeds. Once sprouted, the plants should be easy to grow like most bananas.
Cold hardiness : Probably like the parents.
