Habitat and Description : This spectacular Cycas comes from the Kanchanaburi province in Thailand. It grows on grassy slopes with few trees, with a high exposure to the sun. This habitat experiences fire very often which explains why wild plants exhibit black trunks. The most appealing feature of this species is the white/silver flush of new leaves that becomes green after a few months. Only plants with a minimum diameter of 8-10cm show this charateristic, young plants have green leaves.
