Cycas siamensis “Silver”

Item description : One (1) well rooted seedling with one leaf in a 1,4 liters pot. You receive a plant similar to the ones on pictures.

Habitat and Description : This spectacular Cycas comes from the Kanchanaburi province in Thailand. It grows on grassy slopes with few trees, with a high exposure to the sun. This habitat experiences fire very often which explains why wild plants exhibit black trunks. The most appealing feature of this species is the white/silver flush of new leaves that becomes green after a few months. Only plants with a minimum diameter of 8-10cm show this charateristic, young plants have green leaves.

Care : Easy to growbut slow, likes heat and sunny conditions.

Cold hardiness : Sensitive do the combination of cold temperatures and high humidity. To be kept in pot or planted in dry winter area that only freeze occasionaly .
