Item description : One beautiful specimen of Platycerium ridleyi  in a 10cm pot. You receive a plant similar to the pictured ones. If you want to chose your plant from the available stocks with pictures, it’s possible for 4€ more, in that case contact me. The last picture shows an adult plant from my collection (not for sale).

Habitat and Description : Epiphytic fern from SE Asia and very south after ny collectors. It grows at low altitude on well exposed tree branches. It seems that the shield of this species house ants in a symbiotic relationship.

Care : Easy to grow but prefers acidic water, if your water is too alkaline it’s better to bath your plant in rainwater or distilled water.  Contrary to popular belief, this species is not very difficult to cultivate. These for sale grow at 22-28°C and 50-60% humidity. It’s likely that this difficult reputation is due to import specimen and wild harvested ones.

Cold hardiness : Purely tropical species.
