Item description : Fresh spores of Platycerium ridleyi, guaranteed viability, October 2024 harvest. You receive a packet with several thousands of spores and an instruction manual for sowing. If these sowing conditions are fulfilled, germination is guaranteed. The spores are from my motherplant, shown on the last picture.
Habitat and Description : Epiphytic fern from SE Asia and very south after ny collectors. It grows at low altitude on well exposed tree branches. It seems that the shield of this species house ants in a symbiotic relationship.
Care : Easy to grow but prefers acidic water, if your water is too alkaline it’s better to bath your plant in rainwater or distilled water. Contrary to popular belief, this species is not very difficult to cultivate. These for sale grow at 22-28°C and 50-60% humidity. It’s likely that this difficult reputation is due to import specimen and wild harvested ones.
