Habitat and Description : This Amazonian Cactus is very rare in cultivation. It’s found growing on the branches of trees in seasonally flooded area, its stems growing appressed to the bark. The plants grown in full sun become reddish and when they’re large enough they make huge white flowers that open at night. One of the peculiarities of this species is that it has floating seeds and is adapted to water dispersal.
Care : Easy to grow in tropical conditions, allow the growing medium to dry in between two waterings. Plants keep growing even with 15-16°C night temperatures as long as it gets warmer during the day.
