Habitat and Description : Species from an arid canyon of Colombia. Leaves are arched and not spiny, the cone resemble those of Encephalartos. Slow growing but tolerates drought well.

Cultivation : Very slow growth but quite easy to maintain, likes heat and full sun and abundant water when it’s hot. Needs very well draining growing medium.

Cold hardiness : Given for zone 9b (-3°C/-4°C). Watch for root rot.
