Species : Araucaria bidwillii
Item description : 20 FRESH seeds of Araucaria bidwillii, harvested in October 2019. On one of the pictures you can see some cut seeds showin the healthy embryo. These seeds were sorted by hand and the duds were discarted.PRICE INCLUDES SHIPPING BY REGISTERED LETTER.
Habitat and Description : An australian species that reaches impressive dimensions. The seeds are traditionnally eaten by aboriginals.
Care : Easy to grow, keep the growing medium humid. Prefers acidic soils but can tolerate a large variety of soils.
Sowing: Sow the seeds with the pointy tip down, burried 2/3 of the length in good quality sowing medium, eventually adding gravel and sand to improve drainage. Keep warm and humid. Germination takes several weeks and once the seed is sprouted, it makes an underground taproot and detaches itself. The first leaves emerge several weeks or months later.
