Cycas thouarsii x cupida

Habitat and Description : Hybrid obtained from the pollination of a female Cycas thouarsii with pollen of Cycas cupida. C. thouarsii having glaucous leaves and cupida being one of the blues species, the resulting hybrid offers a very blue foliage when grown in full sun and it’s very fast growing if cultivation conditions are optimal. Very rarely offered for sale.

Care : Fast growing hybrid if it’s given plenty of heat, water and fertilizer. Full sun is mandatory for obtaining the best blue color but as it’s a greenhouse grown plant, it must be acclimated to the sun progressively.

Cold hardiness : Probably zones 9b/10a given the parents.
