Item description : 1 well rooted seedling in a 1,4 liters pot with a 2-2.5cm caudex. You receive a plant similar to the ones on pictures. The last picture shows a plant at its maximum potential.
Habitat and Description : A beautifiul Cycas from Taiwan (it’s been confused with Cycas taiwaniana for a long time, this species is in fact from the island of Hainan). This species is closely allied to revoluta but is much bigger with longer leaves and a thicker trunk. To tell the two species appart, look at the leaflets margins: on revoluta they are rolled downward (revolute) while they are flat on Cycas taitungensis. The growth is much faster than revoluta.
Care :Easy to grow, likes heat and well draining soils. In summer give plenty of water and regular fertilizer to obtain the best growth results.
Cold hardiness : At least 8b, maybe 8a, to be tested. Better cold hardiness than revoluta.
