Habitat and Description : This species hails from Vietnam and China where it is very threatened by habitat destruction. According to experts on the matter, many populations have vanished and others are now extremely reduced. Very rare in cultivation, this species doesn’t form an aerial trunk and bears a reduced number leaves that can reach 2m50 in height and are covered in a purplish-brown tomentum. The plants I offer come from cultivated seeds. Cycas shiwandashanica is a synonym.
Care : Easy to grow under a variety of climates, will enjoy shade or sun (except in places where the sun is very intense). Keep in a well draining medium and provide heat and water in summer.
