Habitat and description : According to the latest genetic studies, there are only two varieties/ subspecies of Zamia integrifolia : Zamia integrifolia var. integrifolia, the most widespread, found on the whole West Coast of Florida and the South and the umbrosa form that is found on the North-East Coast of Florida, usually in forests and on river banks. This form is quite compact with a rather open crown and wide leaflets. Purity of this variety is guaranteed.
Cultivation : Easy to grow species and relatively fast growing for a cycad, likes heat and draining growing medium.
Cold Hardiness : Given for zone 8b, the most cold hardy Zamia (as long as the caudex is burried)
