Item description : 1 Nymphaea oxypetala plant shipped BARE ROOTED. 20-30cm plant with 10 leaves, similar to the plant in the presentation aquarium. Upon arrival, plant into clay soil or technical aquarium soil, water temperature around 25°C. It’s normal for the plant to lose leaves a short time after arrival, it will start producing new ones very soon.
For non neighboring countries, and especially Scandinavia, I don’t offer any sort of warranty for standard shipping because of the distance; For these destinations I highly recomend chosing express shipping, the only way I’ll guarantee live arrival.
Habitat and Description : A very rare and atypical species from the Pantanal in Brazil. It’s very singular in the way that it only makes submerged leaves (in turbid water it sometimes makes tiny floating leaves). It does flower above water, the flower is beautiful but only opens for a few hours at the end of the night.
Care : Relatively easy to grow. Water temperature from 20 to 30°C, pH 7-8, varied substrates, no problem with clay. Ideal for aquarium. This species sometimes becomes dormant when its environment changes, it usually grows back again a few weeks later.
Cold hardiness : Tropical
