Habitat and Description : This plant is a “complex” cross, meaning it involves more than 2 species. This never made before hybrid involves Cycas revoluta x multifrondis as the mother, a medium size hybrid with divided leaflets,and Cycas hainanensis as the father, a very robust species that grows a large trunk. We can expect the adult form of this hybrid to be (in theory) : fast growing, with moderately divided leaves but present in large number and a trunk than can reach 2 meters in height.

Care : Fast growing hybrid, can be grown in full sun or shade. Likes well draining soil but needs a lot of water in summer, especially if grown in full sun.

Cold hardiness : Zone 9a/9b. All parents can tolerate -5°C for a short time, so it’s reasonable to think that the hybrid will tolerate the same or lower.
