Habitat and Description : Beautiful tropical species from central Panama. It can be found in forests, growing on river banks, and its main feature is to have white or yellow emerging new leaves that look spectacular on well developped plants. Before its formal description, it was considered a variety of Zamia elegantissima and was sometimes called Zamia sp. “Blanco ” (white in spanish). It’s a small size species which makes it well adapter to pot cultivation.
Care : Fairly easy to grow if given conditions close to habitat: draining medium, warm and humid.
Cold hardiness : Given for zone 10a, purely tropical species, to be kept warm even in winter.
